So, me being sick all this time has me thinking a lot about my fitness levels and the fact that my x-ray back home in Jamaica showed that I needed to be more fitness concious and active. So I decided I needed to get my fitness routine going. The hubby promised to take me walking when he went running and so that was one way to get started … However, that was going to be a long ways off for many reasons: 1. hubby was preparing for a PT test that we didn’t want to throw his training off too much by this plan 2. I am still sick and the weather has been cold and sometimes wet for the last 4 weeks. 3. WoTLK was released last week anyway – we been focused on it almost exclusively since then.

Then sis gave me an idea … Yoga. I mean, this was a plan I had made before I got here – find a yoga class nearby and enroll … why only now, you ask? I know my mother asked me that; she’s been doing yoga for YEARS – I mean ever since I was a very small child and she has never got me to go with her to ANY of the classes she takes. Well, Jamaica was a whole different world for me and yoga just didn’t fit with the “me” that lived in that time and space. It always seemed to me to be … inconvenient. I can’t explain it really, and it sounds childish and stupid even to me … but I never before even WANTED to do yoga. Even when we coupled our Tai Chi retreat with a yoga retreat once, there was no motivation for me to get into yoga.

Well, while I was here back in January or so, I came across a program on Oxygen called “Inhale”. It’s an hour-long yoga show with Steve Ross as the instructor. It seems a bit … much, to me, Steve’s classes. But it looked like fun. And then it hit me – yoga is good for all KINDS of things – not the least of which is high blood pressure and heart disease. The more I think about it, the better it sounds. And now that I am here, sick and in need of exercise that will not only keep my muscles flexible, but my organs as well … now that I need to be exercise heart and lungs .. now that it’s too FRICKIN COLD to even walk from the front door to the car door, much less around and around on a jogging track … yoga is sounding more and more like an answer to prayer.

What cinched the thought this morning, was hubby coming home from his PT test …. he’s beginning to have some problems with his breath out here in Allergy-Central … we NEED to get our fitness routine started. Not ME anymore, WE. And I am convinced yoga will actually be good for us both.

In walks sis with that light-bulb like quality she tends to have … get a coupla yoga vids and get moving on the fitness routine right here in the house – don’t WAIT until it’s ideal conditions to go walking.

So in the mail right now are the following DVDs:

and

And I gotta tell ya – I can’t WAIT for them to get here.

All that being said, it’s time to get back in-game. I have level 80 to get to and it’s a race to see who gets there first. So … toodles.
