the .: fyr :. light

So, here I am in Kingston, trying to get back into a groove. I spent the day yesterday with my old work colleagues … and it’s remarkable how obvious it was to me who had been my “friend” and who hadn’t. Those who seemed to genuinely like me were all smiles and welcome, those who weren’t didn’t even seem to see me. It was an eye-opener and it was gratifying to hear I left a legacy. The new guys who came on after I left have apparently heard earful after earful about me. I have no clear idea why, but it was still good to hear.

Then, I had to come home and pass out because for some reason that whole visit was SO tiring for me. I suspect part of it is this cold that maybe I haven’t quite tossed yet. But while I am here sleeping, my father comes home and a little after that my cousin calls from Toronto. He’s on his way to Jamaica after 10 years to open his new film in which he is the main character. And he’s going to be staying here. So we scramble about making ready for him since apparently my mother didn’t quite understand that he would be staying here.

He actually didn’t get here until way past 1am this morning and when he got here, we all stayed up chatting until the wee hours – something like 4am. He is so excited to be here. So my empty week has suddenly filled up with a movie/film premiere/opening on Wednesday AND Thursday and something else on Friday and ….. /sigh I am tired just thinking about it. But it’s all good … how many of us can say we have this kind of opportunity in life?

Today, I take it easy … prepare some stuff to box and send to honey-sunshine maybe later today, but I need an easy day. It’s almost as if I have become fragile in the last few months …. it sort of irks me. I need to figure out why.

Oh … there’s a new version of WordPress out …. it looks VASTLY different in the back end. I am still trying to find my way around it.  So if thing get a little funky for a day or two, you know why.
