The minute I saw the mail last night I knew exactly what I wanted to photograph. Course, it was waaaay too late to do anything about it: hubby2B and I went to the movies with a work colleague of his and his wife.

Incidentally, we went to see The Dark Knight in Elizabethtown about 30 minutes away. Well, I have to tell you that movie was pretty damned awesome – albeit a tad long (2 1/2 hours? Sheesh!). Aside from beginning to fidget at about 2 hours into it, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to ANYone.

It’s funny, the very same twist THIS film introduced is the same kind of twist that I was JUST reading about in a discussion on the Barnes and Noble mystery book club board yesterday … kind of makes you want to … “Grrrrrrr” …. but that’s all I’m gonna say about that. Go watch the movie, already!

Of course, it’s fantasy, so there are the usual “No WAY!” moments … and being that I myself am way too much of a detailed observer, there were far too many “Puhlease!” moments for me for it to be perfect, but it didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the picture. In fact, I might even consider seeing it again, given the chance.

So anyway, back to Mission24 for this week … this is the result of efforts this mission:

I was lucky enough to catch the mail before the deadline and the idea for this week’s Mission24 came to me in just a few minutes. This week’s mission was to capture something that represented INNOCENCE/GUILT in a photograph and post it up before 4:45pm CST today.

At first I thought I’d try and catch Bear in one of his classic “I didn’t do it mommy!” looks but then the idea of sitting and waiting for him to not only come downstairs and actually get into something mischievous, plus being lucky enough to catch him on film, much less looking at me with “that look” had me going for a minute. Then it hit me … handcuffs. Nothing says guilt or innocence like a pair of handcuffs. Luckily, there were a set lying around the house (NO comments please on that …. DJ!!!) and I went searching for them immediately.

Opened one side, closed the other and dropped them on the wood panel floor … switched my trusty Canon S2 IS to black and white mode and shot this beaut:

Pretty good, huh?

The word is CRAZY. The mission? A photograph which represents the word.

I thought and thought and thought … just couldn’t come up with any ideas … until I reached for Dictionary on my macbook and punched in the word “crazy”. Dictionary not only gives you definitions, but synonyms, antonyms and any wikipedia references ….

I managed to find the motivation and the time to participate in the Mission24 assignment this week. The word this week was SOUND. I mulled over ears and speakers, even shot a couple experimental shots of my Mom’s ears … nothing worked. Finally I gave up and just submitted this:

One of my fellow agents pointed out that the lighting makes them look different from each other … even though we know they are the same. Not bad for a “give-up” shot, eh?

Oi – check out the dust on those puppies. UGH.
