stupid people and some geekiness

I left to go pick up the discharge of lein papers this morning. The idea was to get the lien discharged, and sign over the title to Dad … all in one fell swoop. I get the discharge papers and head to the tax office. When I get there, and finally get up to the counter, the guy looks at me and says “We can’t do this without the title”. I am stumped … because the credit union KNEW they had the title, yet they said and did nothing. Great! So I call them, because I am not going to be driving back there again today. The idea was to have them find it and package it so that Dad can pick it up when he passes there this evening.

Oh no! Impossible! Because THEY need to see the SAME papers they JUST handed to me less than an hour ago.

WTF!

Course, you know I just told them to …. no. I didn’t. I just told her that it would have to be Monday because I just couldn’t come back today.

Ridiculous.

So anyway, while I am here, let me just say that I see that this has happened (i <3 google reader). Soon as I get back in front of my iMac, I gotta have me a go at this.  Imagine! I could actually play AOC and LOTR and counless other games…. wouldn’t that be sweet!?!

yay for geekdom!

I do. But gaming under any of those is not pretty.

Well, bootcamp maybe. But I abhor the dual-boot idealogy. Knowing how I like to multi-task, there WILL be something under OS X that I’ll want while in Windows.

I agree, I tossed the Bootcamp partition for that reason.

    Wine has better gaming performance?

Well that’s what I gotta check out. May not be better so much as less torturous. I have to see.

I prefer VMWare, but Parallels has better 3d performance by far. I guess we’ll see where Wine falls…

Well, from my brief understanding, you still NEED VMWare, Parallels or bootcamp for Wine to work. Apparently, you can have the OS installed in a VM, but not necessarily turned on. But Wine MUST have a local windows installation to work with.

Anyways – let’s see. You’re making me anxious to get started :P

I’ve already and extensively tested wine, and it still doesn’t hold up to CrossOver (build on wine, but given steroids and more capabilities.
