At first I was anxious about it. One particular twitter friend who would tweet a mile a minute. It was annoying and it interfered with my ability to keep up with my other tweet friends. Call me selfish, but I seriously don’t want to see 15 of one persons tweets and have to scroll many times to see someone else’s tweets. So, tonight I had to again unfollow someone because there were just FAR too many posts in a short period of time.

Here’s the perfect example: cnn posts are fairly frequent.  3 per hour maybe and all within the same 5 minute period. Well, tonight I had to scroll past 2-3 pages of one person’s tweets to see the cnn posts. Yea. 2 or 3 pages on tweetie is about 10-12. Naturally, I un-followed. It bothers me that I have to do that because everybody has something interesting, important or intriguing to say at some point. And frankly this is why I followed this person in the first place.

And here’s the problem with twitter. By it’s very nature it is going to prove annoying to some while inadequate to others who then must be annoying to get what they have to say, said. So please don’t get me wrong. The ONLY reason for un-follows from me is that … I just want to see what everybody on my follow list is saying and not just you. Ok?

This has happened to me a couple of times in my brief time as a Twitter user so far. One person simply retweets every mention of a certain band and so I had a similar experience of having to scroll past every recent mention of that band on Twitter to see other stuff. Un-following in this situation is definitely justified, I think.
