It’s been a couple of days, but I’ve been trying to perfect the taste.
I made iced green tea!
See? I know you all was wondering what they hell I talkin’ bout “i made tea!” since it seemed like such a simple thing to make … not so simple… or rather, simple yet complex under the circumstances.
Last time I tried to make the iced green tea, it was either too strong or too sweet or both. It just didn’t “come out right”. So I decided I’d try again. I got me a large gallon jar with a spigot.
Then I filled it about half with water (from that tap – filtered of course) and added 4 green tea bags (I used Lipton, which I don’t particularly like, but is what I have) then I placed the whole thing in the fridge overnight. Next night coming home from work, I grabbed a bottle of honey to sweeten it with cos sugar is …. so old skool.
Well, I sweetened it alright, but it was still “off”. And then it hit me …. LIME JUICE!
Well, it took me a couple of days to finally GET the damn lime juice (yea, yea … call me anything you want) AND it wasn’t even lime juice either, since our local Walmart had none of that wonderful stuff … it was lemon juice.
Anyway, the point is … it finally has a taste to rival Snapple’s green tea. Well, kinda. In any case, it’s good enough to drink on a hot day. And this is how I started out my day today. I was thirsty and didn’t want to drink water … made worse by stumbling upon this article in my Inbox (thanks to FeedMyInbox.com) … so I got up, and touched a little lemon juice into my gallon jar of so-so ice green tea and Whallah! Genius!
I am sure that when I get my hands on some proper lime juice, it’ll be just this side of perfect. More anon.
