i drove the truck!!!

So, I had a doctor’s appointment today. When I was ready to leave, I wrapped up tight and went outside only to see that hubby’s truck was parked in the driveway in front of the car. So I tapped on the window to get hubby to move it for me and he comes to the front door, hands me the keys and goes “you want to drive it? go ahead.”

Whoa!

So, I climbed up into the driver’s seat (literally since I am so small and this damn truck is so big), started the monster, and backed out into the street. Course, it took me about 10 minutes to do that … cos I wanted to be extra careful and not hit anything. Nevermind that the nearest obstacle was 50 feet away. Sssshhhhh….  I am TRYING to be careful… stop laughing.

The drive to and from the hospital was uneventful … well, except for the usual quota of idiots driving like mad people.  Yes … they are here too. Is not only yaadies drive like eediat when dem ready.

The doctor says I am fine, that everything is natural and expected; that I am to keep using the inhaler and continue to take it easy. No more heavy duty drugs, just the usual advil and alleve and a little robitussin with codeine to help me sleep.

So then this evening was the local Christmas holiday parade in town. So we wrapped ourselves up tight and headed out. It was 22 degrees when we left the house. We got there a few minutes before it started and sat in the truck soaking up the warmth. But to no avail. We stepped out into the night and immediately, the freeze was on. The funny thing is that right away, my legs and feet were cold, but the rest of me was pretty warm. That tells me that 3 layers is just under enough. I say under, because about 10 minutes later, that cold started to seep through even those 3 layers up top. And I stopped feeling my fingers and toes. We did manage to get a couple of pictures, but we didn’t get to see anything else other the beginning of the parade. We were frozen solid.

So home came.

Hubby has to be up in about 3 hours for work, and I am stuck healing one of THE worst heroic instances in WoW that I have EVER seen. Not THE worst – no, that one was last night. This one … is maybe the second or third worst. Man. How do you tell the weakest link that they are the weakest link and replace them? Especially if they are “family”?

Moving on – I better help them finish up so I can get some sleep. Hubby warned me that I better be in bed before he has to get up. At this rate, that’s not going to happen.

/sigh

LOL. I would have paid good money to see you go up in that truck.
Glad to know that you are feeling better and that the doctor says you are doing ok.
    Big up Hubby for me.
