Well, we made it to one year! It feels like it’s all been a dream. It doesn’t SEEM like it’s been a year. It still feels like it was yesterday. Like we’re still “new”. One year. Almost unbelievable. One year of total and complete bliss.
There have been challenges .. I won’t deny it. There have been moments when I’ve stopped and said “What the …!” when I wondered what I was doing and pondered seriously where I had ended up. But those have been literal moments; snippets in time; mere nanoseconds in a year-long journey; and so few and far between that it’s practically impossible to pin-point right now what those moments were and what were the catalysts.
This last month has been especially challenging to us as a couple – with the move and the whole new canvas to paint on. My first army move. Man! I have been cranky like you wouldn’t believe. Hubby has been distracted like you wouldn’t believe. Yet despite it all, here we are – one year old. And STILL as in-love as we were a year ago.
In todays world … I think that’s a feat. And one I am dramatically proud of!
With life settling back into the semblance of a routine and both of us adjusting to the newness of this place, I suspect the next year will be just as idyllic… well, for the most part. And I say that because something looms in our not-so-distant future that I may or may not be able to talk about here in a month or 2. Let’s just say, army life is coming at me with a blast.
