Never thought you’d hear me say that, would you? Oh yea. It’s 57 degrees out there and I didn’t want to come indoors. I was telling hubby that it’s the perfect temperature – it’s nice and cool with a light breeze, not too cold to freeze my face off, but cool enough for a light jacket or pullover. I could sit outside and read or just turn my face up to the sun and close my eyes … and I really wanted to just do that.
But … I’ve been ill these last few days. When Airborne and Dayquil Cold and Sinus didn’t seem to be helping, I called in to the clinic and made an appointment to go in and see my Doc. That was this morning. She pronounced me genuinely down with some kind of viral infection … not surprising, she said, since I was in the clinic around all those sick people and not used to it. What with the Hepatitis-B accelerated immunization, getting wet last week in the rain and just being generally low on resistance …. it’s not surprising. Her words, not mine. She sent me home for more rest, more fluids, more Dayquil and Advil/Alleve and just “take it easy” for a couple more days.
I was worried too … that I’d brand myself as a sicko… even just being a volunteer. But honestly, they all seemed to be understanding of the situation. And were perfectly ok with it all. I am sure they would be less so if I had been a paid member of staff, but it’s still somewhat comforting anyway.
So I am inside, on the recliner, hubby watching the rest of Poseidon … WoW soon to be up … and my bed with warm blankets and TV to keep me company for the next couple of days.
Oh I’m good.
And oh yea – Nala playing with just about anything that she can move with her paw. She’s such a cutie and such a nuisance at the same time. She’s growing too … we look at her now and compare her to photos of when she first came to us. She was just able to hold in hubby’s palm. Now she’s barely able to hold on my chest anymore. Yup. She’s growing .. .and fast. She has all her shots now … so next step is to spay her. Which is on the agenda for late December, early January.

You think? Suppose I told you it was 37 degrees when I was leaving the house this morning?
